Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2012/sm1204.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin for Allen Charles Bella, 84, who died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will be the celebrant of the Mass. Readers for the Mass will be Alyce Benoit, Ashley Bella, and Ashley Trouille. Allen Charles was born in Franklin on November 23, 1927. After graduating from Hanson Memorial he served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and the Korean War. He was an active member of the Church of the Assumption. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Parrah Bella of Franklin; his daughter, Becky Bella Trouille and her husband Jerry of Lafayette; his son Mike Bella and his wife Tammy of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Brett Trouille, Alyce Trouille Benoit, Ashley Bella, and Steven Bella; and three great- grandchildren, Hudson Benoit, Bella Benoit, and Charlie Trouille. Allen Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Allen E. Bella and Lela Walker Bella and an infant son, Allen John Bella. Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Bella, V.J. Bella, Brady Benoit, Craig Thomson, Brett Trouille, and Jerry Trouille. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl W. Bauer, Robert Carson Biggs, Robert E. Biggs, Dr. Thomas F. Kramer, Robert M. Fleming and R. Scott Tibbs. The family wishes to thank Dr. Roland Degeyter and the nurses and staff of Franklin Foundation Hospital and Dr. David Baker and nurses and staff of the Heart Hospital of Lafayette for their compassionate care of Mr. Bella during his illness. Memorial donations may be made to St. John – Hanson Schools, 924 Main St., Franklin, LA 70538. The family requests that visitation be observed at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin on Sunday, April 8 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM and will continue on Monday, April 9, from 11:00 AM until time of Mass at 3:00 PM.
