Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2012/sm1204.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Bishop George Joseph Elias, 86, a native of Centerville and a resident of Baton Rouge passed away, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his residence. George is survived by three daughters, Pamela Elias Daigle and her husband, Darryl, of Morgan City, Constance 'Connie' Elias Van Horn of Morgan City, and Sandra Elias Brinegar and her husband, Joe, of Baton Rouge; one son, Cory Elias of Baton Rouge; one brother, Albert; two sisters, Sally and Jo Ann; six grandchildren, Sharon Daigle, Darryl Daigle Jr., Mitchell Van Horn, Thomas Van Horn, Victoria Elias, and Helen Elias; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Aucoin Elias; his father, Abdullah Elias; his mother, Katie Aucoin Grundon; and three sisters, Rosanna, Mary Belle, and Edna Mae. George served in the Navy in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 10701. The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, April 10th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm with a memorial service being held at 7:00pm at The Church of God of Prophecy in Belle River. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, April 11th from 9am until 11am with funeral services beginning at 11am at The Church of God of Prophecy in Belle River. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery. ===================
