M. at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Burieal will be in Calvary Cemetery where he will be honored with full military rites. Henry Son, an Army chaplain, will officiate the services. Captain Istre, a U. S. Military Logistics Officer, died on March 24. He was serving in Kabul, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Istre earned a number of awards and decorations while serving in the military, including two Meritorious Service Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, and two Army Commendation Medals. Captain Istre is survived by his wife, Lieutenant Jennifer Gustin Istre of Nolanville, Texas; three children, Nathaniel, Benjamin, and Kylie; his mother, Victoria Istre Cormier of Lake Charles; his grandfather; his in-laws; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 2:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. and again on Thursday from 8:00 A. M. until the funeral begins at 2:00 P. M. ===================
