Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Donavan Labbé will officiate the services. Claude was born January 28, 1965 to Evans and Elsie Medine. Claude's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of the time in which one lives. He was a volunteer for United Way and was also a member of the Louisiana Advisory Council. Claude received the Mayor's Award for Outstanding Citizen with a Disability in 1993, as well as 1994-1995 Knight of the Year from the Knights of Columbus Patterson Council 1710, of which he was a 3rd degree member. He enjoyed watching football and considered himself a "Die-Hard Saints Fan." In past years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved life, meeting new people, and never failed to lighten the mood with a goofy joke. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Claude is survived by his wife of 25 years, Robin Ann Forester Medine and their daughter, Alexandria Elizabeth Medine, both of Patterson; his mother, Elsie Sanchez Medine of Morgan City; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Mendoza Forester of Centerville; one brother, Evans (Mike) Joseph Medine, III and his wife Donna of Bayou Corne; one sister, Aurelie Medine Hulsey and her husband Mike of Patterson; one brother-in-law, Wayne Forester and his wife Brenda of Youngsville; one sister-in-law, Brenda Forester Fanguy and her husband Dennis of Thibodaux; as well as five nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Evans Joseph Medine, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Evans Joseph Medine, Sr. and Florence McCracken Medine; his maternal grandparents, Omere Sanchez and Delia LeBlanc Sanchez; his father-in- law, Bobby Forester; and one sister-in-law, Angela Forester Cooper. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Forester, Dennis Fanguy, Tom Gier, Carl Pellerin, Jimmy Sanchez, and Howard (Buddy) Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Evans (Mike) Medine, III and O. J. Barbier. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 1, at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visiting will continue Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 8:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Claude's memory to the National Ataxia Foundation, 2600 Fernbrook Lane, Suite 119, Minneapolis, MN 55447, (763)-553-0020, www.ataxia.org, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, PO Box 219, Patterson, LA, 70392. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care given to Claude by his caregivers, Jeanette M. Forester, Sharon Felterman, Kathy McGinnis, and H. L. Haydel Memorial Hospice of Houma. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1111 Lia St., Patterson, LA ===================
