Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2012/sm1204.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, April 23, 2012, at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin for Mrs. Mabel Eldridge Navarro, 96, who entered into eternal rest under the care of Heart of Hospice at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette on April 19, 2012. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the services. Born on January 20, 1916 in Loreauville, she lived in Franklin until she married Lee M. Navarro on May 29, 1940 and moved to Baldwin, where they resided until his death in 2001. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin and the Ladies Alter Society. Mrs. Navarro is survived by her two sons, Ernest Lee Navarro and his wife Carol North of Summerville, SC, and Eldridge Paul Navarro and his wife Janet Bergeron of Jeanerette; her daughter, Juanita Ann Navarro of Beaumont, TX; her grandchildren, Tammy Navarro Owens and Kelly Ann Navarro of Summerville, SC, Robert Navarro of Cary, NC, Darla Navarro Ferreira of Rockwall, TX, Annie Navarro Hill of Chesapeake, VA, Ross Navarro of Washington, DC, and Lee Oliver Navarro of Baton Rouge; and her great-grandchildren, Lee Owens of Bedminster, NJ, Aaron Owens of Summerville, SC, Devon Navarro of Summerville, SC, Joseph Navarro of Raleigh, NC, Haley Navarro of Cary, NC, Carol Wright of West Allis, WI, Nicole Wright of Knoxville, TN, Timothy Wright of Milwaukee, WI, and Sophia Faith Ferreira of Rockwall, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee M. Navarro; her father, Alphonse Eldridge; her mother, Amelina Crochet Eldridge; four brothers, Oswald Eldridge, Percy Eldridge, Howard J. Eldridge, and Terry Eldridge; and three sisters, Florence Eldridge Battaglia, Stella Eldridge Veron, and Amelina "Nina" Eldridge Robicheaux. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at the church from 9:00 AM until Mass time at 12:00 PM.
