Mr. Cain was born in Kaufman County, Texas on February 9, 1930 to Emzie Jackson and Elizabeth Carey Cain. He was a Korean War combat veteran, having retired from the United States Marine Corps, and was a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he majored in public relations and advertising. Mr. Cain was employed by the Mid-City Daily News in Hurst, Texas before moving to Franklin, Louisiana as editor-publisher of the Franklin Banner-Tribune. His business interests included various cafes and bars in Texas and Louisiana. Having a great sense of humor and being a good story teller, Mr. Cain enjoyed making new friends and was always ready to lend a hand. His interests were reading, photography and old cars. Survivors include his wife, Gale Bouton Cain; son, Matthew “Matt” Cain; daughters, Damion “Dee Dee” Cain Guillory and Scarlett Cain Landry; stepson, Danny Boudoin; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sumiko Cain; son, Anthony “Tony” Cain; and sister, Jo Alice Brewer of Arlington, Texas.
