Burial will take place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Mr. Chauvin, a resident of Scott, was the son of the late Walter Chauvin Sr. of Charenton, and the former Euphame Kelly of Bayou Chewe, Louisiana. Johnny was a graduate of Centerville High School and he attended LSU. He was an avid hunter, accomplished carpenter and knife maker. He loved spending time with his family and friends and no one he met was a stranger. The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice and Nurse Tara Baudoin, Pastor Mark Broussard, Kayla Roiz and the pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynne Thomas Chauvin of Scott; two daughters, Angie C. Kiesewetter and husband, James, of Scott and Michele C. Derouen and husband, Doug, of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Kiesewetter, Eric and Brad Derouen; four sisters, Deanna Benedietto of Franklin, Theresa Giroir of Bayou Vista, Judy Werline of New Orleans and Amy Chauvin of Zachary; and one brother, Walter Chauvin Jr. of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charles, Larry and Jimmy Chauvin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott on Tuesday, May 15, from, 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at 11 a.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. Pallbearers will be James Kiesewetter, Doug Derouen, Eric Derouen, Walter Chauvin Jr., Deanna Benedietto and Byron Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Derouen, Harold Richard, Frank Urban, Bobby Thomas, Terry Mire and Sonny Chauvin. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in the Mr. Chauvin’s name to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion Street, Lafayette, La. 70501. Delhomme Funeral Home, 705 Marie Street, Scott, Louisiana, is in charge of funeral arrangements. ===================
