Thornton Clark Jr., a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012. He was 42, employed at Southern University-Baton Rouge, Department of Management Warehouse, and a graduate of Baker High School. He was the beloved son of Celia Bartley Clark and the late Thornton Clark; brother of Cary Lynn Clark (Christopher) Hollins and Bernard (Karen) Clark; father of Damien; uncle of Kristen, Hunter, Dyron (Melissa) Clark; great-uncle of Dyron Jr and Michael. He is also survived by his aunts, Ruby B. Sanchez, Gertrude P. Bartley, Brenda H. Bartley, Audrey B. (Roland) Merchant, Gloria B. (Calhoun) Moultrie, Lorraine Bartley, Laura B. Marshall, Anice C. Wilson, Doreatha C. Primus, Bernice C. (Edgar) Thomas, Ethel C. Brazier, Catherine C. Charleston, Pearlie M. Clark, and Linda C. Randall; his uncles, Herbert Bartley and Frank (Janice) Bartley III; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bartley Jr. of Morgan City; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Clark of Baton Rouge; aunts, Mary C. Kelly, Audrey C. Spears, Virginia C. Hart, Melinda B. Martin and Jacqueline Bartley; and uncles, Roosevelt Clark, Melvin Bartley, Huey Bartley and Willard Clark. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, June 1, 2012, at noon at The Greater New Galilee Baptist Church, 9185 Wilbur Street, Baton Rouge. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until religious services. Dr. Mark A. Litt will officiate. Interment at Southern Memorial Gardens, 3012 Blount Road, Baton Rouge.
