She was a retired St. Mary Parish school teacher. She is survived by one son, Leon Raymond Garrett of Franklin; two daughters, Phyllis Lorena Garrett Echols of Austin, Texas and Sonia Garrett of New Iberia; two brothers, Stanley Champion Sr. of Chicago, Illinois and Albert Champion Jr. of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Phyllis Champion of Savannah, Georgia and Victoria Champion of Franklin; and one grandchild, Mya Raynell Webster. Ms. Garrett was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Visitations will be observed at Park Avenue Church of Christ Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m. at that church, with the Rev. Cornelius Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin. The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge preparations. ===================
