Cap was a dedicated member of Bayou Vista Baptist Church for many years, along with being a member of several local civic organizations. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran who served his country proudly and with honor. Cap is survived by his loving wife, Hazel LaCoste Hymel of Bayou Vista; three daughters, Jeanie Clement (daughter of Royal and Bessie) and husband Drue of Morgan City, Pam LaCoste and husband Ricky of Bayou Vista and Theresa Knight and husband Lloyd of Houma; two sons, Butch Verrett and wife Francine of Houma and Lloyd Hymel (son of Royal and Bessie) and wife of Stephensville; one sister, Ethel Hymel Acosta; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Cap was preceded in death by his first wife, Bessie Verrett Hymel; his parents, Luke and Enola Hymel; one brother, Erving Hymel; and one sister, Eula Hartman. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Twin City Funeral Home, 6-9 p.m., and will resume on Thursday, May 24, 2012, starting at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Bayou Vista Baptist Church with a service beginning at 1 p.m. at the church. Royal will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. ===================
