Jerry went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 8, 2012 at his residence. Jerry was a member of Healing Stream Ministries where he served as Deacon for many years. He was a veteran of The United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Jerry was the best boat captain the oil field has ever seen. He would run anywhere, during all-weather especially fog, using only radar as his guide. Jerry was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Viola Hebert Jackson of Amelia; his daughter, Robin Jackson of Amelia; his son, Jerry Jackson Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Amelia; one sister, Donnie Felton of Morgan City; five grandchildren, Jessicca Daigle Miller and her husband, Joshua, Brent Daigle, Justin Jackson, Mariah Jackson, and Mallory Jackson; two great grandchildren, Kathryn and Ashton Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Jackson; his mother, Alice Brown Jackson; one sister, Reverend Mary Carter; a brother-in-law, Bert Carter Sr.; a niece, Sharon Recinos and a nephew, Richard Felton. The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 6pm to 9pm at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Thursday, May 10th from 9am until time of services. A celebration of Jerry's life will take place Thursday, May 10th at 11am at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City with his nephew, Reverend Bert Carter Jr. of Healing Stream Ministries, officiating the service. Graveside services will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery. ===================
