Funeral services will be conducted for Francis A. “Sonny” Reynaud Sr., Wednesday May 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the David Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum, with military graveside services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1982. Visitation will be today, Tuesday, May 8, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and resumes Wednesday, May 9 at 8 a.m. until the time of services. A Rosary will be said in the funeral home chapel today, Tuesday, May 8 at 7 p.m. A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Reynaud died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 9:55 p.m. at his home. He was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad as yardmaster in New Iberia with 42 years of service. He was also a member of the Cattleman’s Association and the VFW Post 1982. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, 11 months, Lucille Broussard Reynaud of New Iberia; his sons, Francis A. “Sonny” Reynaud Jr. and his companion Vickie of Portland, Ore., and Bruce Reynaud of New Iberia; his daughters, Trudi R. Perret and her husband Emile J. Perret II of New Iberia and Sandra R. Egelston and her husband Mike Egelston Sr. of Jennings; a brother, Jesse E. Reynaud Sr. of Morgan City; a sister, Iris R. Miller and her husband Max of Patterson; grandchildren, Tina Reynaud, Johnny Reynaud, Lee Reynaud, Michael Egelston Jr., Alecia B. Reynaud, Jennifer C. Reynaud, Emile J. Perret III, Lane R. Perret and Kaci E. Perret; and great-grandchildren, Kylie Egelston, Amanda Egelston, Hanna Egelston, Mychelle Egelston, Megan Albert, Chelsea Busby, Ashley Busby, John Reynaud, Josh Reynaud, Aysha Reynaud, Catcher Reynaud and Townson Reynaud. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse E. and Antoinette Bouy Reynaud Sr.; sisters, Ruth R. Delaune and Joyce R. Smith; brothers, Vernon Reynaud, Kenward Reynaud and Elton “Pickle” Reynaud; and a granddaughter, Shannon Egelston. Pallbearers will be Bruce Reynaud, Emile Perret III, Michael Egelston Jr., Lee Reynaud, George Reeves Jr. and Jesse Reynaud Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Wiltz Vice and Henry Dauterive.
