All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright.shtml ======================================================================= NOTE: If a Photo is available for an obituary record, a reference note will be included with the record. ======================================================================= STELLY, MARY LULA Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012, at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Mary Lula Stelly, 91, the former Mary Lula Speyrer, who passed away Monday, May 28, 2012, at Patterson Health Care Center in Patterson. Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. The Rev. Austin Leger will officiate at the services. Mrs. Stelly was a native of Leonville, and a longtime resident of Plaisance. Survivors include her two sons, Julien Dale Stelly and his wife Debra of Apopka, Fla., and Gene Burton Stelly and his wife Angela of Patterson; nine grandchildren, Brian Bihm, Bridget B. Manuel, Benjamin Bihm, Alison S. Osterburg, Jason Neil Stelly, Camille S. Izaguirre, Mitchell Stelly, Julie S. Dupre and Marianne S. Conque; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Roy Speyrer and his wife Sue of Houston, and John Speyrer of Metairie; and one sister, Edna Mae Begnaud and her husband, L.J. of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Stelly; her parents, Mitchell Speyrer and the former Lula Devillier; one daughter, Deanna Marie Stelly Bihm; and two brothers, Emile Speyrer and Robert Speyrer. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until service time on Saturday. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carla Morein, Crecie Olivier, the staff of Patterson Health Care Center and St. Joseph’s Hospice. Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas, 4708 I-49 N.
