During his many years of battling serious illness, Seth was a champion for his family by displaying courage and a feisty attitude until the end. Seth was born on May 21, 1935, in Olivier, the son of Thomas Erving Sumrall and Inez Alleman. Seth had a sharp wit and tremendous sense of humor. He loved telling stories to anyone that would listen. He was an avid bridge player and reader. He also loved listening to music, traveling and playing golf. Seth was a family man who was an excellent provider. He cherished spending time with his granddaughters. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 56 years, Jackie Sumrall of Morgan City; three daughters, Rachel Sumrall Jett, Angela Bergeron and husband Darren, and Kelly Sumrall and fiancé Ryan Taylor, all of Morgan City; one son, Christopher Sumrall and wife Anna of Houma; five granddaughters, Hayley Sumrall, Abby Bergeron, Shelby Bergeron, Ava Taylor, Brooke Lyn Taylor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Erving Sumrall and Inez Alleman Sumrall; two infant daughters, Robin Anita Sumrall and Mary Gerianne Sumrall; four sisters, Lilly Gros, Inez Molbert, Estelle Hebert and Peggy Cote; two brothers, Thomas Sumrall Jr. and Richard Sumrall; and other special relatives, including his brother-in-law, John Kern Sr.; his nephew, George Gros; and his aunt, Jenny Sumrall Hebert. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Greg Fratt officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass Thursday at the church, with a Rosary to be said at 10 a.m. Seth will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum. ===================
