Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette for Doris C. Robichaux, 86, who died peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2012. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Principal celebrant of the Mass of Christian Burial will be her eldest son, the Rev. Msgr. Robie E. Robichaux, JCL, Judicial Vicar, Diocese of Lafayette, and Pastor of St. Leo the Great Church, Lafayette, with area clergy concelebrating. Homilist and officiating the Rite of Commendation will be the Most Rev. Michael Jarrell, Bishop of Lafayette. Deacon of the Mass will be Deacon Jim Kincel. Lectors will be Mr. Phil Lizotte and Mrs. Kimberly Gothreaux. Gift bearers will be Ms. Stephanie Robichaux, Mrs. Andrew (Yvonne) Bienvenu and Mrs. W.R. (Ruby) Odom. Organist of the Mass will be Mr. Rafael Henry and Cantor will be Mr. Steven Landry. Altar Server will be Mr. Paul Bernard. Survivors include her children, Rev. Msgr. Robie E. Robichaux, JCL, of Lafayette; Mrs. Penny Bienvenu and her husband, Stephen, of Lafayette; Mr. Rickie Robichaux of Lafayette; Ms. Lisa Robichaux of Lafayette; and Mr. Chris Robichaux of Lafayette; her five grandchildren, John Michael Bienvenu of Charleston, S.C and his wife, Melanie; Scott Bienvenu of Lafayette; Stephanie Robichaux of Washington, D.C.; Andrew Bienvenu of Lafayette and his wife, Yvonne; and Craig Robichaux of Lafayette; and one brother, Dr. Walter B. Comeaux Jr. of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Robichaux Jr.; one son, Randy Robichaux; and her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Walter B. Comeaux Sr. Pallbearers will be Chris Robichaux, Stephen Bienvenu, John Bienvenu, Scott Bienvenu, Andrew Bienvenu and Craig Robichaux. A native of Houma, Louisiana and a resident Lafayette for the past 27 years, Mrs. Robichaux was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Lafayette. She was a woman of deep Catholic Christian faith that expressed itself in unconditional love as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her strong faith, courage and wisdom, her gentle ways, compassion, and wonderful sense of humor communicated a sense of Lord’s loving presence as a gift to all that knew and came to love her – and be loved by her. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 5 p.m. and concluding with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 300 W. Alexander St., Lafayette from 8:30 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. ===================
