Irene spent many years shrimping and working hard. She loved shopping, eating out, growing flowers, spending time with her brothers and sisters, and watching Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke and other westerns. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irene was wonderful at making homemade breads and a fabulous crab stew! To her grandchildren she was comforting and the perfect role model showing unconditional love from her tone of voice even down to her cooking. Irene was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her two sons, Brad Sons and wife Joyce of Duson, and Roger Sons of Berwick; three brothers, Emile Lodrigue Jr. of Bayou Vista, Billy Lodrigue of Berwick and Claude Lodrigue Sr. of Bayou L’Ourse; five sisters, Lorena Lombas of Berwick, Lillie Teachman of Berwick, Lillian “Molly” Rink of Gibson, Diane Sanders of Bayou Vista and Betty Lou Leger of Gibson; four grandchildren, Laurie Prejean and husband Chad, Rogena Hartley and husband Rick, Kimberly Norwood and husband Justin, and Karen Thibodeaux and husband Starsky; and seven great-grandchildren, Hanna Thi Irene Hartley, Colin Jon Prejean, Keller Clay Thibodeaux, Katie Ann Prejean, Khairick Noel Lai Hartley, Molly Marie Thibodeaux and Karson Irene Norwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd N. Sons; parents, Emile Lodrigue and Lorenza Ribardi Lodrigue; two brothers, Ernest and Phil Lodrigue; and two sisters, Dalita Sons and Adeline Dontay. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Irene will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery. ===================
