EDWARDS, LEONARD 

Mr. Leonard Edwards, 83, a resident of Franklin and native of New Orleans, died 
Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 11 p.m., at Franklin Health Care Center following a 
short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Louise Lee Edwards of New Orleans; five 
sons, Leonard C. Edwards Sr. and wife, Trianace; Benjamin L. Edwards Sr. and 
wife, Linda; Bruce L. Edwards Sr. and wife, Gloria; Nathaniel Edwards and wife, 
Pamela; and Wesley C. Edwards, all of New Orleans; five daughters, Linda Banks 
and Beneva E. Njie and husband, Ogista, of New Orleans, Lillie E. Wilson of 
Houston, Texas, Lisa Y. Williamson and husband, Tyrone Sr. of Fort Benning, 
Georgia and Lois E. Foster and husband, Dennis, of College Park, George; one 
sister, Delerine Hughes of Algiers, La.; 24 grandchildren; 14 great 
grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one sister and one 
brother.

Visitations will be observed Tuesday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Clio 
Place Baptist Church in New Orleans.

Burial rites will be read Tuesday, at 10 a.m., at that church, with Chaplain, 
Captain Lisa Y. Williamson. 
Entombment will follow in the Mount Olivet Mausoleum in New Orleans.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
