Gary was a member of First Baptist Church of Morgan City where he served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon, and also sang in the church choir. He was the original bass singer in Jubilation, a Southern Gospel quartet, singing with the group from 1982 to 1986, and from 2006 to the present. Gary was a veteran of the United States Navy, and worked in the oil field for many years. Gary is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 51 years; two sons, Tracy and wife Ashley of Broussard and Scott and wife Denise of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Kelly Hebert and husband Keith of St. Amant; and his sister, Shon Wolfe and her husband David of Tulsa, Okla. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Ryan Salzarulo and husband Shawn, and Samantha Patterson; and four great-grandchildren, Kirstan, Jalin, Antony and Olivia. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, G.C. and Milo Patterson; his brother, Eddie Lee Patterson; and his grandson, Tyler Jones. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Hargrave Funeral Home, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, July 9, 2012, at Frist Baptist Church, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A celebration of Gary’s life will begin at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at the New River Baptist Church cemetery in St. Amant. ===================
