Williams was raised on the island of Aruba, where he spent his early years. In 1955, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Having served in the Vietnam War, he made a career in the military and retired from the Air Force with the rank of Captain after 24 years of dedicated service to our country. Survivors include his sister, Dolores Williams Grissom of Richmond, Texas; one niece, Nelwyn Grissom Powell and her husband Walt of Richmond, Texas; one nephew, Gregory Wayne Grissom of Hockley, Texas; and three great-nephews, Travis Grissom, Wyatt Powell and Walker Powell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Joseph Williams and Nelwyn Daigle Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to the Alzheimer’s Association National Office, 225 N.
