Interment will follow in Sorrell Community Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Terrace Blvd., in New Iberia. Born on August 10, 1954, “Charlie Boy” worked as a machinist for Cooper Cameron Iron Works in Bayou Vista. His hobbies included cleaning his cars, manicuring his yard, playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his dog, “Brandy.” Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Hall Arceneaux of Jeanerette; mother, Hester Preston Arceneaux of Ashton; sons, Charles Arceneaux Jr. of Houston, Texas and Brandon Arceneaux and wife, Lauren, of New Iberia; daughter, Teona Arceneaux Alexander and husband, Terrance, of Jeanerette; stepsons, Brian Swan and wife, Sophia, of Germany; Patrick Boutte Jr. and wife, Nicole, of New Iberia; and Carlton Boutte and wife, Renee, of Baton Rouge; stepdaughters, Bernadine Swan of Jeanerette; Crystal Swan Decuir and husband, Dennis, of New Iberia; and Patrina Boutte of Clarksville, Maryland; brother, Cleveland Arceneaux Jr. and wife, Naomi, of Henry, Tennessee; sisters, Diana Arceneaux of Houston, Texas; Dora Arceneaux Jackson of Ashton; Marva Arceneaux of Ashton; and Cathy Arceneaux Notto of Franklin; sisters-in-law, Gail Smith and husband, Miller, of Jeanerette; and Florida Johnson of Jeanerette; brothers-in-law, Bernard Hall and wife, Ella, of New Iberia; Harry Booker and wife, Mary; Ray Johnson and wife, Tara; Lawrence Johnson and wife, Mallerie; and Phil Hall, all of Jeanerette; mother-in-law, Ethel Hall of Sorrell; four grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Arceneaux Sr.; sister, Eleanor Arceneaux; brother, Arthur Arceneaux; maternal grandparents, Maggie Lewis and Richard Preston; paternal grandparents, John Arceneaux Sr. and Elnora Johnson Arceneaux. Pallbearers are Arthur Arceneaux, Brandon Arceneaux, Charles Arceneaux Jr., Dennis Colbert, Jermaine Jackson, Ray Johnson, Jeremy Laday and Steven Miller. Honorary pallbearers include Terrance Alexander, Cleveland Arceneaux Jr., Carlton Boutte, Patrick Boutte Jr., Dennis Decuir, Dwayne Shaw Jr., and Brian Swan.
