March 31, 1933 ~ Aug. 22, 2012 A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin for Mr. Wilson Joseph “Buddy” Bourgeois Jr., 79, a Franklin native and resident of Baldwin since 1963, who passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 4:25 a.m., at his home. Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the Mass. Burial will be held at a later date. Mr. Buddy was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his daughter, Kim Thomas and her husband, Steve, of Carthage, Texas; his son, Troy Bourgeois and his wife, Claire Saucier Bourgeois, of Baldwin; one brother, Shelton Bourgeois and his wife, Billie, of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Maxine Hebert of Charenton and LeeAnn LeBlanc and her husband, Tommy, of Franklin; five grandchildren, Jeremy Barrilleaux and his wife, Christy; Heather Williams and her husband, Stacy; Heidi Foreman; Brandon Bourgeois and his wife, Katie; and Chase Bourgeois and his companion, Randi Rodriguez; 10 great grandchildren, Austin, Lance and Luke Williams, Shalyn and Evan Barrilleaux, Kaylee, Madison and Miles Bourgeois and Rylee and Kynlee Foreman; and a brother-in-law, Percy Clifton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lloyd Brown Bourgeois; one son, Curtis Bourgeois; one daughter, Roxanna Barrilleaux; his parents, Wilson J. Bourgeois Sr. and Mabel Dugas Bourgeois; one brother, Michael Bourgeois; one sister, Elizabeth “Tee-Ta” Clifton; and one brother-in-law, Jude Hebert. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Barrilleaux, Brandon Bourgeois, Chase Bourgeois, Stacy Williams, Austin Williams and Steve Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Caro and Roland “Sonny” Hidalgo. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Heart of Hospice of Lafayette, 201 W.
