Carl Joseph Duplantis Jr., 48, a native of Bayou Cane and a resident of Raceland, passed away at 7:45 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 after a 5 year battle with multiple meloma. Visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Raceland on August 7, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and at St. Mary’s Nativity Church in Raceland on August 8, from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Nativity Church, at 11 a.m., with burial following in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Raceland. He is survived by his wife, Renee Reynolds Duplantis; daughter, Carlie Renee; son, Charles Duplantis; mother, Margie Kinney Duplantis; two brothers, Cody John Duplantis and his wife, Linda, and Casey Duplantis and his fiancée, Jessica Lalumia; and his niece (Casey’s daughter) Kate Elizabeth Duplantis. He is also survived by Phillip and Deneen Naquin; his “little sister” Heidi Cortez; Kye Duet and wife, Lisa; he was “Uncle Fun” to Dennis and Kamilla Rogers; Marci and fiancé, Louis Shawn; Phillip “Bud” Naquin; Kasie “BoBasie” Cortez; Kyelee and Keelie Duet; and great niece, Kallie Rogers. He was the son- in-law of M. David and Pat Duet. Mr. Duplantis was preceded in death by his father, Carl “Magoo” Duplantis; grandparents, Patsy and Margarette Kenney; and Wilber Sr. and Adele Duplantis. Carl worked at KWBJ television in Morgan City. He was an avid Saints fan and will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life as a great son, brother, husband, father and friend. ===================
