Born in the small lumber town of Patterson, Louisiana on August 26, 1926, Harry spent his formative years through high school in Franklin, Louisiana, near Bayou Teche, where he was graduated from Hanson Memorial in 1943. The youngest child of Dr. Guy G. Aycock and Florence Lewis Aycock, both former sheriffs of St. Mary Parish, he was predeceased by his two brothers Dr. Clifton Aycock and Fr. Roy Aycock and two sisters, Elizabeth “Kena” Aycock Bell and Barbara Aycock, both nurse anesthetists. Harry continued his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He owned and operated Franklin Interiors prior to relocating to Los Angeles to attend the Gemological Institute of America. He was a senior Jeweler and retired from Neiman Marcus- Fine Jewels, in 1991. Harry was a member of Santa Monica’s Catholic Church and attended Santa Monica Junior College in computer science until his death on August 10, 2012. His jovial disposition and positive life force will be greatly missed by his West Coast and Louisiana family and friends. ===================
