Feb. 13, 1931 ~ Sept. 19, 2012 Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin for Ernest “Junior” Lile Jr., 81, a Franklin native and lifelong resident of Centerville, who passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Maison Teche Nursing Center in Jeanerette. Burial will follow in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Centerville. Chaplain Bill Brewer will officiate the services. Junior was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a gun collector and avid outdoorsman who loved crawfishing and raising alligators, of which he was well known for keeping in his pond in front of his home in Centerville. He was also known as being one of the best welders around, having worked for over forty years for Berry Brothers in Berwick. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Donna Ruth Duggan Lile of Centerville; one son, Robert Lile and his wife LeeAnn of Garden City; three daughters, Alicia Dawn Lile Chapman of Denham Springs, Tara Antoinette Lile of Centerville, and Haley Cheree’ Lile Burley and her husband, Keith, of Berwick; three sisters, Alice Lake of Verdunville, Janet Smith of Verdunville and Shirley Arnold of Roanoke; nine grandchildren, Trevin, Blaine and Kelsey Buteaux, Cruise Chapman, Landen, Justin and Brennen Lile and McKayla and Brielle Burley; one great grandson, Carson Buteaux; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lile Sr. and Bessie Cecilia Burns Lile; and his brother, Taylor “Tootsie” Lile. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. ===================
