LONGMAN, SIDNEY E., JR.
June 8, 1939 ~ Sept. 16, 2012

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at 10 a.m., at First 
United Methodist Church of Franklin for Mr. Sidney E. Longman Jr., 73, a native 
of New Iberia and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Sunday, 
September 16, 2012, at the Franklin Health Care Center.

Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. 
The Rev. John Locascio and the Rev. Sue Pugh will officiate the services.

Mr. Sidney was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard, was a longtime member 
of the First United Methodist Church, was a charter member of the Franklin 
Little Theater having performed in several musicals, and was owner and operator 
of Longman Farms and Longman Machinery Co.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Lydia Flores Longman of Franklin; one son, 
Sidney E. Longman III and Wendi Choate of Katy, Texas; one daughter, Laura 
Longman Smith and her husband, James, of New Iberia; two sisters, Sarah L. 
Locascio and her husband, Rev. John Locascio, of Morgan City, and Victoria 
“Chee Chee” L. Corley and her husband, Robert, of Bayou Vista; two grandsons, 
Brayson Longman of Katy, Texas and Austin Smith of New Iberia; and his father-
in-law, Alfredo Flores Sr. of Franklin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney E. Longman Sr. and Beryl Alford 
Longman; two brothers, Bryan and Eugene Longman; and his mother-in-law, 
Dionicia Molina Flores.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, Sept. 17, at Ibert’s 
Mortuary from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Visiting will continue Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. 
until time of service at 10 a.m.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s 
Association, Louisiana Chapter, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA; Or to Heart
