Charles Ray Moncriffe Sr.” will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 1 p.m., at the Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church in Jeanerette, with the Rev. Kevin T. Jenkins officiating. He will await the resurrection at the Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the Nazarene Baptist Church in Verdunville; and from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church in Jeanerette. A native of Weeks Island and resident of Jeanerette, Rev. Charles Ray Moncriffe gently closed his eyes and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at 3:45 p.m., at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. Rev. Moncriffe was a former member of the Evergreen Lodge #31. He also served in the United States Navy. Rev. Moncriffe leaves to cherish his memory and in God’s care his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Mrs. Violet Charles Moncriffe of Jeanerette; two sons, Charles Ray Moncriffe Jr. (Jeanette) and Kirk Moncriffe (Tanya) of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Valerie Moncriffe Simon (Minister Dwayne) of Jeanerette; and seven grandchildren. He joins in Glory his parents, Luther Moncriffe Sr. and Mary Lee Moncriffe; four brothers, Benny Moncriffe, Joe Moncriffe, Moncriffe, and Luther Moncriffe Jr.; and two sisters, Elvira M.
