CHARLES, SAMUEL SR.

Samuel “Sammy’ Charles Sr., 73, a resident and native of Morgan City, died 
Monday, October 15, 2012 at 8:45 a.m., at his residence.

“Sammy” was a longtime employee for The Morgan City Auditorium.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic from 9 a.m. 
until funeral service at 11 a.m. 

Burial will follow in the City Cemetery.

Sammy leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Sandra A. Charles of 
Atlanta, Georgia and Mary C. Charles of Morgan City; a brother, Jerry Charles 
Sr. of Patterson; two sisters, Margaret Charles Gibson of Morgan City and Idell 
O’Prien of Houma; one stepsister, Delores Henderson of Baton Rouge; four 
grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, three brothers, 
and two sisters.

Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City/ Franklin/ Jeanerette is in charge of 
arrangements.
