All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright.shtml ======================================================================= NOTE: If a Photo is available for an obituary record, a reference note will be included with the record. ======================================================================= CLEMENTS, SYLVESTER ANTHONY March 12, 1934 ~ Oct. 29, 2012 Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Sylvester Anthony Clements, 78, a native of Centerville, former longtime resident of Franklin, and a resident of Dayton, Texas for the past two years, who went home to his Lord on Monday, October 29, 2012, at his daughter’s home in Longville. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin, followed by Military Honors. The reverends Sidney and Denise Gauthier will officiate the services. Many knew Sylvester for walking around town and waving to everybody he saw. In his words, “I’m walking with Jesus. I’m on my way to heaven and the journey gets sweeter every day.” He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his children, Wade Anthony Clements and his wife, Brenda, of Charenton; Roger Paul Clements and his wife, Aline, of Bayou Vista; Dorothy C. Mire and her husband, Scott, of Longville; David James Clements and his wife, Mary, of Van Cleave, Mississippi; and Kevin Joseph Clements of Dayton, Texas; his former wife, Loretta Rogers Clements of New Iberia; three brothers, Moise Joseph Clement Jr. of Baldwin, Levy Joseph “Wacker” Clement of Coteau and Louis Clements of Centerville; two sisters, Elise C. Sauce of Morgan City and Martha C. Barrilleaux of Youngsville; 14 grandchildren, Nicole, Benjamin, Adam, Bonnie, Casandra, Andrea, Rhonda, Nathan, Nolan, Jamie, Jeanie, D. J., Victoria and Kevin Jr.; 19 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moise Joseph Clement Sr. and Florence Jane Stansbury Clement; one brother, Horton Anthony Clements; three sisters, Dorothy C. Borruano, Rita Clements, and Marie C. Nini Guzzetta. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert’s Mortuary on Wednesday, October 31, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again Thursday, November 1, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Clements, Adam Clements, Nathan Mire, David Clements Jr., Nolan Mosbroker, and Kevin Clements Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Moise J. Clement Jr. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to help alleviate final expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc., of Franklin. ===================
