Ellis “Jambo” Gaskins Sr., 69, a resident of Morgan City, and a native of White Castle, died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Teche Regional Medical Center, at 11:50 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday, October 20, at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Union Bethel Cemetery in Amelia. Ellis “Jambo” leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Ellis Gaskins Jr. of Winnfield, Peter (Cecila) Gaskins of Virginia, Eric Gaskins of Morgan City and Micheal Swan of Canada; four daughters, Diana Gaskins of Florida, Paulette Gaskins of Amelia, Victoria (Lorenzo) Johnson and Delicia Jones, both of Berwick; three brothers, David (Earline) Gaskins of Morgan City, Perry (Barbara) Gaskins and Jerry (Theresa) Gaskins, both of Amelia; two sisters, Mary Holly and Irma Williams, both of Amelia; a sister-in-law; 25 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers and one sister. Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City/ Franklin/ Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements. ===================
