James attended Willow Street Elementary and Franklin Senior High School where he was a member of the football team. After high school, he began working various jobs. But Doodlebugs’ coming out party in life was his first day of work with the United States Postal Service on March 24, 1967 where he was employed for 44 years. James enjoyed many years of dedicated work with the United States Postal Service and still to this very day his family meets someone he touched with that busy personality of his, whether it was good or bad. One of his most cherished moments was when he was awarded the St. Mary Parish Black Achievement Awards on March 11, 2006. James was an avid fisherman and would look forward to any fishing trip that came along. James was also an avid bowler along with his brothers, Raymond Ina, Joseph Ina and Lester Wells.
