Duane was an active member of Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church. She was involved in many aspects including; choir, UMCOR, VBS, and was a board member of Staff Parish Relations. Duane worked at Lakewood Hospital for many years. She graduated from Morgan City High School and attended USL in Lafayette. The many things in life that brought her joy were, family, friends, and gardening. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jim Cloutier, and brother Harry Cross; four daughters and son-in-laws, Marsha and Lenny Gray, Nedra and Thaddeus Marcell of Morgan City, Margo and John Irwin of Houston, Texas, and Marleah and Bradley Overton of Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren, Allison G. Kemmerer, Rachel G. Murphy, Amanda G. Beshany, Brant Percle, Jonathan Percle, Catherine P. Patureau, Joshua Irwin, Elizabeth Irwin, and Tyler Adam Overton; Seven great grandchildren, Lexa Kemmerer, Isaac Kemmerer, Shawn Murphy, Carter Beshany, Michael Patureau, Luke Percle, and John Banister Garliss. Duane was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Joseph Mayon; parents Charles and Hazel Graham Cross; sisters, Ester Maude Cross, Charlene C. Lewis, and brother Charles F. Cross. Pallbearers will be, son-in-laws, Lenny Gray, Thaddeus Marcell, John Irwin, Bradley Overton, and her four grandsons, Brant Percle, Jonathan Percle, Joshua Irwin, and Tyler Overton. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012, from 10a.m.-12:30p.m. at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 12:30p.m. and burial in the Morgan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family request that donations be made to Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society with allocation to head and neck research. ===================
