The son of Roy Elver Newlin and Julia Hunt Newlin, Bob was born on November 11, 1922 in Dana, Indiana Best known as "Papa," "Grandpa," and "Big Grandpa," Bob was a true family man who loved spending time with his family especially his Babies. He looked forward to fall every year when he was able to hunt with family and friends in Texas. He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Army during WWII. He was the founder of Newlin Wireline Service. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 66 years Juanita Newlin of Morgan City; three children, Mandy Russell and husband Buck of LaPlace, Sandra Daigle and husband Terry of Patterson, Randy Newlin and wife Cathy of Morgan City; five grandchildren, Gary Russell, John T. Russell, Penne Leier, Greg Chasson, Randi Leigh Burgess; ten great-grandchildren, Olivia Russell, Luke Russell, Brannan Chasson, Maddie Chasson, Jacob Leier, Joseph Leier, Jason Michael Burgess, Drake Scott Burgess, Kyleigh Nicole Burgess, Patrick Russell. Bob is also survived by three brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Elver Newlin and Julia Hunt Newlin; one granddaughter, Nicole Annette Chasson; one son-in-law, Nolen Butch Chasson; three brothers, one sister. Twin City Funeral Home will host a visitation on Monday, October 29, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m. Bob will be entombed in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
