REED, JOYCE MARIE 
(February 9, 1945 - October 20, 2012)

Joyce Marie Reed, 67, a resident of Amelia passed away Saturday, October 20, 
2012 in Morgan City.

Joyce was born on February 9, 1945 in Ville Platte the daughter of Marshall 
Soileau and Mazie Pitre Soileau.

She was a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church and was a member of the 
Amelia Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. When her children were young she was 
very involved with the recreation department and served as the concession stand 
coordinator. She loved to go dancing and also enjoyed going to the Amelia Belle 
Casino. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren 
and always enjoyed cooking for her family.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children, Jeffery 
Shannon Reed and wife Kerri of Cedar, Michigan, Wendell Scott Reed and wife 
Stephanie of Morgan City, Schaun Marshall Reed of Amelia; five grandchildren, 
Carly Marie Reed, Hunter David Reed, Brayden Phillip Reed, Bryce Scott Reed, 
Cora Ann Reed; four sisters, Jane LeJuene, Virgie Prejean, Barbara Soileau, 
Rosa Belle Fontenot; one brother, Harris Soileau.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Mazie Pitre Soileau; 
husband, Jeffery Lynn Reed; two sisters, Hazie Fontenot Bertrand, Nellie 
Soileau; three brothers, Larry George Fontenot, Joseph Evan Soileau, Francis 
Wayne Soileau.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 
2012 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia. Visitation will be held from 6:00 
p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home 
with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 8:00 a.m. 
until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Joyce will be entombed in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
