He is survived by his parents, Jane Bowie of Franklin and James Steward Jr. of Franklin; nine brothers, Thaddues (Dana) Bowie and Michael Merrick, both of Morgan City; Rev. Bryan (Caulina) Merrick of Baltimore, Maryland; Herby Merrick of Lafayette; Troy Colbert of Four Corners; Curtis J. Nathan Sr., Manuel J. Nathan and Demarcus Nathan, all of New Iberia, and Kryron Phillips of Elgin, Texas; four sisters, Carol Bowie of Charenton, Cassandra Colbert of Baldwin, Quentilla N. (Wilson) Marshall of New Iberia and Crystal Phillips of Elgin, Texas. Visitations will be observed Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin. Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Bryan Merrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Special providence Cemetery. The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations. ===================
