FRANCIS, MELVIN “SCHOLAR” 

Melvin Francis, 46, a resident of Morgan City and native of Patterson, died 
Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at 4:47 p.m., at Terrebonne General Hospital.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 4 at Ephesian Baptist Church in 
Morgan City, at 2 p.m.

Scholar leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Dina Lynn Randle Francis of 
Morgan City; two daughters, Dejah Monet Francis and Nadia LaShaye Francis, both 
of Morgan City; one brother, Stephen (Natassia) Troy Francis of Laguna Niguel, 
California; three sisters, Mrs. William (Andrea) Harper of St. Robert, 
Missouri; Mrs. Alphonse (Carla) Chaney, Mrs. Brian (Stephanie Francis) Turner 
and Mrs. Timothy (Leslie) Delco, all of Patterson; his father-in-law; two 
brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; two godchildren; and a host of aunts, 
uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Scholar leaves some very close extended family and devoted friends.

Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City/ Franklin/ Jeanerette is in charge of 
arrangements.
