All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright.shtml ======================================================================= NOTE: If a Photo is available for an obituary record, a reference note will be included with the record. ======================================================================= PELTIER GODFREY HARRY May 2, 1931 - Nov. 19, 2012 Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 1 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Godfrey Harry Peltier, 81, who went home to his Lord early Monday morning, November 19, 2012, at his son’s home in Bayou Sale. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Pastor Marty Harden will officiate the services. Mr. Godfrey was born on May 2, 1931 on Maryland Plantation to Wilfred Peltier Sr. and Ellen Coleman Peltier. His family later moved down Bayou Sale to Ellerslie Plantation where he spent his childhood. When he was old enough, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He loved the outdoors, especially shrimping, gardening, cutting his grass, and working in his yard. Mr. Godfrey worked for over 20 years for Cabot. After retiring from Cabot he went to work for SMI Companies where he also worked for over 20 years. He was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Fellowship in Patterson. Survivors include his three children, John Godfrey Peltier and his wife, Bonita, of Bayou Sale; Mark Christopher Peltier and his wife, Christine, of New Iberia; and Julie Peltier Moore and her husband, Roger, of Bayou Sale; his wife, Georgia Amadore Fabre Peltier of Berwick; three stepchildren, Suzanne Dosier and her husband, Todd, of Berwick; Debbie Thibodeaux and her husband, Bart, of Berwick; and Robin Fabre of Patterson; one brother, Wilfred “Son” Peltier Jr. of Bayou Sale; one sister-in-law, Lova Peltier of Walker; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seven step- grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lavona James Peltier; his parents, Wilfred Peltier Sr. and Ellen Coleman Peltier; four sisters, Mary Ellen P. Foreman, Emmadel P. Levet, Elizabeth P. Duncan Foreman and Miriam P. Firmin; and one brother, Huey Paul Peltier. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert’s Mortuary from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Moore, Dylan Moore, Brennan Moore, Eric Peltier, Emile Levet and Douglas Levet. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. ===================
