March 13, 1947 ~ Dec. 5, 2012 Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the Crossing Place Fellowship in Franklin for Mr. Thomas B. Black Sr., 65, a native of Smackover, Arkansas, former longtime resident of Centerville and a resident of Franklin for the past 7 1/2 years, who went home to his Lord on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at 4:46 p.m., at Louisiana Extended Care in Lafayette. Burial will follow in the Teche Gardens Cemetery in Centerville. Pastor Brad Bullock and Pastor Den Hussey will officiate the services. Survivors include his wife of 7 1/2 years, Elda M. Black of Franklin; his four children, Peggy Black, Jamie Black, Rebecca Buteaux and her husband Zeb, and Thomas Black Jr. and his wife, Brandy, all of Franklin; his father, Buckley (Pop) Black of Franklin; six sisters, Alice Leonard of Franklin, Claudine Chauvin of Franklin, Carrie Alcina of Centerville, Amy Lee of Centerville, Carolyn Minville of Arkansas and Polly Pumphrey of Arkansas; five step- children, Jacob Anslum of Morgan City, Blue Daigle of Franklin, Flo Sauce of Franklin, Vickie Lynn Hunt of Morgan City and Gail Daigle of Franklin; two granddaughters, Rylee Buteaux and Hadassah Abigale Black of Franklin; as well as a host of step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gale Esta Black; his mother, Leona Brazeale Black; one sister, Maudine Black Noble; one grandson, Jaden Thomas Buteaux; and one step-daughter, Joan A. Anslum. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Crossing Place Fellowship and again Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Black Jr., Zeb Buteaux, David Martin, Leland Daigle, Shane Theriot Sr., and David Landry Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Anslum. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. ===================
