Known as, "MeMe Tot" to her family and friends, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was the rock of her family. She never missed an opportunity to share in her family's achievements and gatherings. She had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone. Her smile was radiant, beautiful, heart-warming and contagious and will be dearly missed. She leaves many to mourn her passing. She is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Christensen Aucoin and her husband, Anthony Aucoin of Berwick, Scharlette Christensen Mayon and her husband, James "Joe" Mayon of Bayou Vista. Four grandchildren, Christen Aucoin Hebert and her husband Patrick Hebert of Berwick, Anthony "Tony" Aucoin Jr. and his wife Tracy Morvant Aucoin of Lafayette, James "Jimmy" Mayon Jr. and wife Paulette Netterville Mayon of Thibodeaux, and Joey Mayon and his fiancé Susan of Patterson. Twelve great-grandchildren, Patrick Hebert Jr. and his wife Jessica Blood Hebert of Patterson, Ashten Hebert, Ryan Hebert, Jonathan Hebert, Matthew Hebert, Elizabeth Hebert, Joseph Hebert, and Luke Hebert, all of Berwick, Anthony "Trey" Aucoin III, and Sawyer Aucoin of Lafayette, and Haley Mayon and Nicholas Mayon of Thibodaux. Two great-great grandchildren, Maria Hebert and Patrick Hebert III of Patterson. One brother, John Carter Jr. and his wife Sylvia Cole Carter of Morgan City. One brother-in-law, Joseph Percle of Morgan City. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were so dear to her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, August Christensen who passed away in 1982; her parents, John and Elda Gaspard Carter; three sisters, Genevieve C. Spell, Elmira C. Percle, and Helen C. Scadlock Thornton; three brothers, Kennith Carter, Bert Carter, and Russel Carter; one granddaughter, Vickie Mayon. "Mrs. Tot" was the owner/operator of "Tot's Magic Mirror" Beauty Salon in Morgan City for over twenty-five years, serving many long time patrons and making many lifelong friends. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and held the position of Secretary/Treasurer in its early beginnings. She was a very spiritual lady "Thanking God" and giving praise in everything she said and did, exemplifying a true Christian. Her family and friends admired her dedication and faithfulness. Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jimmy Mayon, Joey Mayon, and Patrick Hebert; and her great-grandsons, Patrick Hebert Jr., Ryan Hebert, Jonathan Hebert, Matthew Hebert, and Nicholas Mayon. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Leola will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. ===================
