She was 92 years old. Born September 14, 1920 to Oscar and Emma Aucoin, Louise was one of nine children. She lived in Louisiana for 87 years, and in 2007 moved to Florida to be near her daughters. In 1938 Louise married Joe Barras. They lived in Morgan City, LA and raised their six children there. Joe passed away in 1973. In 1978 Louise married Alex Coupel. Louise was a great cook, and her home was open to everyone. Scores of family and friends enjoyed wonderful meals at her house. Louise was an accomplished seamstress and a master quilter. Her grandchildren cherish the quilts made by their "Mawmaw". Many quilts were also gifted to friends and donated to fundraisers at her church. This legacy of quilting is carried on by Louise's daughters. Louise was a devout Catholic and rarely missed Sunday Mass. She was an energetic person and could outwork anyone! Louise loved to travel and made many trips to Florida and Alaska to visit her daughters. She is survived by her brother Arthur, her four daughters, Betty (Dwight) Willoughby and Emma Jane (Bill) Bedford of Panama City, FL, Vicky Johnson of Nikiski, Alaska and JoAnn Zeringue of Soldotna, Alaska, her daughter in law Juanita Barras of Labadaville, LA, five step children –Alex Coupel, Mary Boudreaux, Phyllis Chiasson, Catherine Coupel and E.J. Coupel, 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by both of her parents, seven of her siblings, both of her husbands and her sons Ubain and Dewey Barras. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27th from 6 – 10 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home, Morgan City. Visitation will continue Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Andrew Catholic Church from 10 am until 11 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am. Interment will be directly following services, at St. Andrews Cemetery. ===================
