A Celebration of Life for Earl “Brother-Weed” Gasper Sr., 73, will be held at 12 noon Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1262 Bobtown Rd. in Charenton. The Rev. Paul Godfrey will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. “Brother-Weed”, as he was also known, was born August 28, 1940 to the late Irving Sr. and Flora Pierre Gasper in Charenton, where he was a lifelong resident. In early adulthood, he met and married Mary Collins and from this union three sons were born. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death, three siblings, Gloria Pickney, Rita Atkins and Alvin Gasper; his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Cynthia Gasper; his maternal grandparents, Lazine and Mary Pierre; and a devoted companion, Judy Archangel. Earl passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 1, 2012 in Franklin. Earl “Brother-Weed” will forever be remembered by his three sons, Earl Gasper Jr., Michael (Tiffany) Gasper and Eric Gasper, all of Charenton; four siblings, Irving (Rev. Isabella) Gasper Jr. and Cassandra (Charles) Carter, both of Charenton, Delores Allen of Los Angeles, California, and Shirley (Emmitt) Dewitt of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one uncle, Herbert Gasper of Rancho Cucamonga, California; eight grandchildren, Mark Summons, Arianna Bourque, Jon’tre Charles, Micheal Gasper Jr., Timothy, Jasmyn, Nieya and Erica Gasper; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be observed at the church Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
