Funeral services will be at Atkinson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Morgan City on December 22, 2012, with visitation beginning at 10AM at the church, service will be at 1PM. The officiant will be the Rev. Richard Maag, Presbyterian minister, assisted by Father Roy Mellish, retired Episcopalian priest, and Rev. Vernon Fairley, retired Methodist minister. Interment will be at the Morgan City Mausoleum immediately following. Mrs. Guidry is survived by her children Linda Guidry Stanley of Lafayette, LA., Judith Guidry Weber of Berwick and John L. Guidry and his wife Cindy of New Iberia. She is also survived by her sister Betty Freeland Gosnell of Charleston, S.C. Surviving grandchildren are Michelle Guidry Glatter of Delcambre, Celeste Guidry Longo of Germantown, TN., Jacqueline Guidry Thomas of Lafayette, V. J. "Toby" Guidry III of Lafayette, Susan Stanley Klinger of Plano, TX., Jane Stanley Guidry of Lafayette, Gene Weber of Alexandria, VA., Lisa Weber Parsiola of Berwick, Hans Weber of Lafayette, Will Alfred of Mandeville, LA., Shane Alfred of Houma, LA., Mike Tingle of Morgan City, Nina Guidry Pyle of Springfield, MO., Roy Savell of Lafayette, 36 great grandchildren, and a special friend, Ricky Marmelejo of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, V. J. "Toby" Guidry, her son V. "Jack" Guidry, Jr., daughter Yvette Guidry Tingle, sons-in-law James C. Stanley and E. A. "Gene" Weber, brother John Ed Freeland, sisters Elsie Freeland Hingle and Clarinel Freeland Hart. Belle was born in Crowley, LA., on November 18, 1919, to the late Mr. And Mrs. Jay Freeland (the former Jessie Barr). She was deeply involved in the Presbyterian Church, one of her proudest accomplishments was organizing and leading the children's choir of 26 members. She also started the Presbyterian Youth Fellowship and numerous fund raising events at the church. An avid golfer, Belle was club champion of the St. Mary Golf and Country Club for three years. Her activities with her children were numerous, home room mother for many years, organizer and director of the PTA Mardi Gras balls. She was an executive secretary at McDermott Fabricators for 17 years. Belle is perhaps best known as a television chef and cookbook author. She wrote two cookbooks, Belle's Bayou Bounty and Belle's Country Cooking. She had cooking shows in Baton Rouge at WBRZ for 13 years, at KPLC in Lake Charles for 13 years and at WDSU in New Orleans for 6 years. She was an artist, a chef, a seamstress, an organizer, a friend, but most importantly to her she was a mother hen to her family, both immediate and extended. Belle was an inspiration to all who met her, the void will never be filled but the memories overflow. Memorials may be made to Atkinson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Morgan City, or to the charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hargrave Funeral Home. ===================
