June 5, 1934 – December 13, 2012 Preston R. McIntrye Sr., 78, a native of Springfield, LA, and a resident of Berwick, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his home while surrounded by his wife and loving family. Preston lived in the Tri City area for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Southeastern University prior to his being drafted in United States Army where he served in the Korean War. Preston worked as a pilot for Macabar, where he flew seaplanes. He later became an agent for State Farm Insurance Company, where he proudly dedicated over 40 years of service to his loyal customers. Preston was a member of many clubs and organizations in the Tri City Area. Preston was a man among men and there will never be another like him. He was known for being honest, faithful and giving; not only to just his family and friends but also his customers and employees. His family remembers Preston as being as close to perfect as they come. Preston will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Preston is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Marianna McIntyre; his adoring step daughter, Ashley Landry and her fiancé, Jason Concienne; his proud son, Preston “Ricky” McIntyre Jr. and his wife, Tiffany; two daughters, Denise Guidry and her husband, Chris, and Julia Bailey; one brother, Hervey “Sonny” McIntyre; one sister, Ruthann Threadgil; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Hunter, Carli, Chris, Lyndsey, Sadie, and Toby, and three great grandchildren, Paige, Maddix, and Logan. He is reunited in Heaven with his father, Hervey McIntyre Sr.; his mother, Julia B. McIntyre; his first wife, Lou Ann McIntyre; and his sister, Katherine M. Rigsby. The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, December 14, 2012 from 6pm to 9pm at Pharr Chapel Methodist Church in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Saturday, December 16, 2012 at 9am at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City with services beginning at 11am. Preston will be laid to rest in the Wetmore Cemetery in Springfield, LA. ===================
