Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Centerville. Fr. Ruben Primor will officiate the services. Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Centerville Council #4309. To quote a complete stranger from one of his many travels, "Sometimes you say funny things, sometimes you say things funny, but sometimes you just say things." Survivors include three children, Laurie Ann Doucet of Branson, MO, Kellie Marie Rector and her husband Dale of Verdunville, and Kevin Michael Vaughn of New York City, NY; six grandchildren, Jamie Bridges, Brent Bridges and his wife Rachel, Eric Bridges and his wife Ashley, Bailey Clements, and Kimberly and Samuel Doucet; four great grandchildren, Emma Reed, Blaize Bridges, MacKenzie Bridges, and Reece Kechkaylo; and his long-longtime friends, Joe and Doris Robicheaux and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Ann Palmer Vaughn; his parents, Joseph and Elda Michel Vaughn; one brother, Leland Vaughn; and one sister, Mary Ellen "Sis" David. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 11:00 AM until time of Mass at 2:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 1:30 PM.
