Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1302.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 11:00 AM at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin for Henderson Philip "Phil" Naquin, Sr., a native of New Orleans and longtime resident of Franklin, who passed away Monday, February 4, 2013, at his home with his family by his side. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Thomas Vu will officiate the services. Phil was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. He worked for Columbian Chemical Co. for 26 years until retiring in 1987. Survivors include his six children, Henderson Phillip "Phil" Naquin, Jr. of Franklin, Jennifer Naquin of Franklin, David G. Naquin and Delaine of New Iberia, Johanna Cole Pham and her husband Phuoc of Lafayette, Carmen Naquin Hebert and her husband Matthew of Jeanerette, and Elwood Philip "Jack" Naquin, II and his wife Lezley of Alabaster, AL; one sister, Nancy Naquin Harmon of Texas; seven grandchildren, Mandi Louviere, Nicole, Marisa, and Seth Naquin, Alexandria Naquin, and Cole and Claire Margaret Pham; and four great grandchildren, Daelin, Macen, Kadence, and Huttser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Philip "Jack" Naquin and Edna Jane Rose Naquin. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, February 6, at Ibert's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visiting will continue Thursday at 9:00 AM at St. Jules Catholic Church until time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Serving as pallbearers will be Phil Naquin, Jr., Jack Naquin, Seth Naquin, Mike Rineholt, Matthew Hebert, and Phuoc Pham. Honorary pallbearers will be David G. Naquin, Chet Breaux, Tim Baudoin, Tad Blevins, James Stovall, Joe Pillaro, Billy Pontiff, Kenneth McClarity, and Ray Robicheaux. The family would like to thank Mr. Phil's nurse, Sara, of St. Joseph Hospice of Lafayette, for her loving care and compassion given to Mr. Phil and his family.
