Jessie Frost Hansen, 92, a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City passed 
away, Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Teche Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leif George Hansen, a native of 
Lista, Norway; her parents, Romulus J. Frost Sr. and Pamela Mayon Frost; her 
siblings, Elizabeth Frost, Mabel Frost Wood, Robert W. Frost, Carrie Lee Frost 
Thomas, Viola Frost Hutton, Jennie Leah Sauls, Austin Patrick Frost, and Helen 
Frost Lawrence.

Jessie is survived by her son, Leif Frost Hansen of Morgan City; a brother, 
Romulus J. "R.J." Frost Jr. of Morgan City; a host of nieces and nephews, and a 
special friend, Darlene Loupe Castay.

Jessie was active in the American Cancer Society and donated gift baskets to 
terminally ill children with cancer. 
She was titled Citizen of the Month for the City of Morgan City in 1966. 
She helped instruct special needs children in the old Lakewood Hospital and was 
a Para-Professional with M.E. Normal Elementary School. 
She later graduated from Young Memorial as a private duty nurse at the old 
Lakewood Hospital and the new Lakewood Hospital, which is now known as Teche 
Regional Medical Center. 
Jessie was a loving wife and mother, as well as a marvelous cook. She enjoyed 
gardening, her favorites being her magnolia trees and her flowers.

The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 
6pm – 9pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday, March 27, 
2013 from 9am until dismissal at Hargrave Funeral Home
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 2pm at 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church 

with graveside services following in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
