Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1303.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Ruby Varnam, a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2013 at Morgan City Health Care Center following a brief illness. Visitation will be March 5, 2013 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 9 am until 2 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home at 2 pm with Brother Ben Thibodaux officiating. Ruby will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum. Ruby was born on May 28, 1925 in Morgan City, Louisiana, the first daughter of Easton and Lillian Domangue. She earned a GED in order to enroll as a student of the first graduating class of the LPN program at Young Memorial. She was a staff nurse at Lakewood Hospital for many years, and later, as an office nurse for Dr. Daniels and Metz, and Dr. Theiring. Ruby was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 66 years, Clarence Varnam, Jr. and her son-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Plessala. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Lynette Plessala of Morgan City, two grandsons, Steve Plessala and his companion Brent Fredrick of Morgan City, and Craig Plessala and his wife Nicki of Bourg, LA. one great granddaughter Kensie Plessala and one great grandson Conner Plessala; her three sisters, Norma Nell Colligan and her husband James of Lafayette, La; Patricia Kordonway of Morgan City; and Shirley Broussard and her husband Lobert of Gibson, La.; two brothers, Gerald Domangue of Barataria, and Harris Domangue and his wife Sevim of Beltsville , Maryland as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Young Memorial Vocational LPN Program or the charity of your choice. ===================
