She was born July 3, 1935. Jerry was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, a woman of strong faith and the strongest woman her family knew. She is survived by her children, Deborah C. Bruce and Tony, Elizabeth “Liz” Walker and Brian, Elby Champagne Jr. and Betty Jo, Sharon Champagne, Michael L. Champagne and JoAnn and Virginia “Tiny” Hill; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and her siblings, Glynda Martin, Bill Hartt and Sherry Smelly, all of Texas. Mrs. Champagne was preceded in death by her husband, Elby L. Champagne Sr.; daughter, Theresa “Teta” Boudreaux; son-in-law, Garland Hill Sr.; two grandsons, Brian K. Walker Jr. and David L. Champagne; and one great grandson, Rye M. Hill. Visitation will be Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. with services at 3 p.m., at Calumet Baptist Church, 4042 Hwy. 90 in Patterson. Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, Texas handled the arrangements. ===================
