"Joey" Hepler, 64, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at his home. Joey was born on September 29, 1948 in Morgan City the son of Joseph U. and Rose Vaccarella Hepler. Joey was a lector and Eucharistic minister at St. Bernadette Catholic Church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 6211. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Julia Ratcliff Hepler of Bayou Vista; three children, Michael Hepler and wife Shanna of Morgan City, LeeAnn Hepler of Patterson, William Hepler and wife Ashley of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Seth Hepler and Zoe Hepler both of Morgan City; one brother, John Hepler of Lafayette; four brothers-in-law, George Percle of Morgan City, Robert E. Miller of Bayou Vista, Louis Ratcliff and wife Janice of Berwick, J.C. Ratcliff and wife Adrienne of Lafayette; two sisters-in-law, Leona Landry and husband Merval of Bayou Vista, Frances Miller of Houston. Joey is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joey was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rose Hepler Percle. A Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Father William Rogalla officiating. Memorial visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until the time of mass in St. Bernadette Catholic Church Parish Hall. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Joey will be inurned in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Bernadette Catholic or memorial masses. ===================
