Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1304.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Edward R. “Eddie” Klein, 63, of Richardson, Texas, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on April 19, 2013. He was born on April 17, 1950, to the late William A. Klein Jr. and Evelyn R. Klein. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1968 and received a bachelor of science in pharmacy from Northeast Louisiana University in 1973. Eddie is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Stephany Knower Klein; daughter, Dr. Kandace R. Klein; brother, William A. Klein III and his wife, Linda, of El Paso, Texas; sisters, Marie Dinger and her husband, David, and Karen Tisdale and her husband, Keith, both of Morgan City; his wife’s two sisters and brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly K. Rayburn. Eddie was a pharmacist for 40 years and was employed by Osco Drug, Eckerd’s, Skillerns Drugs, Tom Thumb Pharmacy, Albertsons and Brookshires. He also owned and operated Klein’s Pharmacy in Dallas for 20 years. Eddie was loved and respected by everyone he helped in the pharmacies. He received numerous distinguished awards and recognitions, most notably The Bowl of Hygeia. He was involved with several community organizations and activities and gave freely of his time. Eddie was a member of several professional organizations including APhA, ASCP, Behren’s Family Advisory Committee, Cardinal Health Retail Advisory Board, DACA, WTPA, NCPA, NLU Dean’s Advisory Committee, NOVO- Nordisk Advisory Committee, Phi Delta Chi (lifetime member), and TPA. His most treasured roles were Texas Pharmacy Association president in 2004-2005 and PharmPac director and vice chair. In addition to his love and dedication to the profession of pharmacy, Eddie was an avid golfer. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Methodist Richardson Cancer Center or the Eddie Klein Scholarship Fund. ===================
