A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 11:00 AM at 
Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin for Dalton F. Desormeaux, Sr., 
76, a New Iberia native and resident of Baldwin, who passed away Friday, May 
10, 2013, at 9:50 PM at the Franklin Health Care Center. 

Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. 
Fr. Ruben Primor will officiate the services.

Mr. Dalton was a musician who enjoyed French music and loved family gatherings. 
He was also an avid football fan and a lifelong Saints supporter. He retired 
from Superior Service Company after dedicating many years of service. He will 
be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his three daughters, Beverly Peltier and her husband Karl of 
New Iberia, Betty Sonnier and her husband Michael Sr. and Barbara Gorman and 
her husband Michael, both of Franklin; his son, Dalton F. Desormeaux, Jr. of 
Franklin; two brothers, Floyd Desormeaux of Baton Rouge and Joseph Carl 
Desormeaux of Anahuac, TX; two sisters, Nola Migues of Delcambre and Lou Ann 
Haught of Sulphur; thirteen grandchildren, Tiffany Thibodeaux, Scott Peltier, 
Sean Peltier, Michelle Pitre, Michael Sonnier, Jr., Rebekah Chapman, Daniel 
Sonnier, Hannah Steiner, Eric Gorman, Marissa Verrette, Megan Boudreaux, Mindy 
Desormeaux, and Mallori Desormeaux; and 15 great grandchildren; as well as 
numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Thibodeaux Desormeaux; his parents, 
Sidney Desormeaux, Sr. and Ernestine Meaux Desormeaux; two brothers, Charles 
Desormeaux and Sidney Desormeaux, Jr.; and two sisters, Josephine Bertrand and 
an infant sister.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 14, at Ibert's 
Mortuary in Franklin from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed 
at 7:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume Wednesday at Ibert's Mortuary at 8:00 AM 
until time of dismissal at 10:30 AM.

Serving as pallbearers will be his son, Dalton F. Desormeaux, Jr., and his five 
grandsons, Eric Gorman, Michael Sonnier, Jr., Scott Peltier, Sean Peltier, and 
Daniel Sonnier.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, 
Franklin, LA
